API 2500 Bus Compressor Battery Mod

I love the API 2500. The mojo. The mid forward vibe. But the pesky CR2450 v3 battery can’t hold it’s charge for more than a few months. It’s life-span is horrendous.

Luckily there is a solution. And it’s fairly easy. Just pick up a run-of-the-mill AA (or AAA) battery pack.

Then you can solder the leads to the battery solder pads API has wonderfully supplied.

Mount the battery pack with some double sided 3M tape and you are done. After of course adding the pair of AA batteries. You should be set for years now!

The whole mod took me less than 10 minutes. Enjoy!
